About Dosa
Dosa is a thin, crispy South Indian crêpe made from a fermented batter of rice and urad dal (black gram lentils). It is one of the most popular breakfast dishes in India.
The batter is fermented overnight, which gives the dosa a slightly sour taste and makes it light. It is spread thinly on a hot griddle and cooked until golden and crisp.
The most famous version is masala dosa, filled with spiced potatoes. Dosas are served with coconut chutney and sambar, a lentil and vegetable stew, and are eaten across South India and around the world.
