About Pani Puri

Pani Puri is a popular Indian street snack of small, hollow, crispy puris filled with spiced potatoes and chickpeas, then dipped in tangy, spicy mint water (pani) and eaten in one bite.

The water is flavored with mint, coriander, tamarind, chili and chaat masala. Sweet tamarind chutney is often added.

Pani puri is sold by street vendors across India, who fill the puris one by one for customers. It is called golgappa in North India and puchka in Kolkata.
