About Syrniki
Syrniki are small, thick pancakes made from farmer's cheese (tvorog), eggs, a little flour and sugar, fried in a pan until golden outside and soft and creamy inside. They are a favorite breakfast in Ukraine.
The cheese is a soft, slightly tangy curd cheese. Vanilla or raisins are often added, and the patties are dusted with flour before frying.
Syrniki are served with sour cream, jam, honey or condensed milk. They are also popular in Russia, Belarus, Latvia and other Eastern European countries.
