About Roast Turkey

Roast Turkey is the centerpiece of the traditional British Christmas dinner. A whole turkey is rubbed with butter and herbs, often stuffed, and roasted until golden with crisp skin.

It is served with roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, carrots and parsnips, stuffing, pigs in blankets (small sausages wrapped in bacon), cranberry sauce, bread sauce and gravy.

Turkey became the favorite Christmas bird in Britain during the 20th century, replacing goose and beef. It is also the centerpiece of Thanksgiving dinner in the United States.
