About Garlic Butter Shrimp
Garlic Butter Shrimp is a quick, popular American dish of shrimp sautéed in a pan with butter and plenty of garlic, finished with lemon juice, black pepper and parsley. It can be made in about 10 minutes.
The shrimp are cooked over high heat just until pink, so they stay juicy and tender, then tossed in the melted garlic butter. A splash of white wine or broth and a pinch of chili flakes are popular additions.
It is a favorite weeknight meal and is often served over pasta, rice or with crusty bread to soak up the buttery sauce. Similar dishes appear in many coastal cuisines, including the Hawaiian garlic shrimp sold from food trucks on Oahu's North Shore.
