About Churros
Churros are long, ridged sticks of fried dough from Spain, crispy outside and soft inside. They are made from a simple dough of flour, water and salt, piped through a star-shaped nozzle into hot oil.
In Spain, churros are usually eaten for breakfast or as an afternoon snack, dipped into thick hot chocolate. A thicker version called porras is also popular in Madrid.
Churros spread to Latin America, where they are often rolled in cinnamon sugar or filled with dulce de leche or chocolate. They are sold at markets, fairs and street stalls.
