About Choripán
Choripán is a simple Argentine sandwich of grilled chorizo sausage in a crusty bread roll. The name combines "chorizo" and "pan" (bread).
The pork or beef chorizo is grilled over charcoal, often split down the middle (mariposa style), and topped with chimichurri or salsa criolla, a fresh relish of tomato, onion and peppers.
Choripán is often served as an appetizer at an asado, the Argentine barbecue, and is a classic street food sold outside football stadiums. It is also popular in Uruguay and Chile.
