About Sinigang
Sinigang is a Filipino sour soup, usually made with pork, shrimp or fish, and sour fruits, most often tamarind. It is one of the most beloved comfort foods in the Philippines.
The broth is tangy and savory, flavored with tomato, onion and fish sauce, and filled with vegetables like radish, long beans, eggplant, okra and kangkong (water spinach).
Other souring agents include guava, green mango or calamansi. Sinigang is served hot with rice, especially on rainy days.
