About Ravioli

Ravioli are Italian stuffed pasta: two thin sheets of fresh egg dough sealed around a filling and cut into squares, rounds or half-moons.

A classic filling is ricotta and spinach seasoned with Parmesan and nutmeg, but ravioli can also be filled with meat, pumpkin, mushrooms or seafood. Each region of Italy has its own versions.

Ravioli are mentioned in Italian writings from the 14th century. They are served with butter and sage, tomato sauce or meat ragù, and are a popular dish for Sunday lunches and holidays.
