About Guacamole
Guacamole is a Mexican dip of mashed ripe avocado mixed with lime juice, chopped onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño and salt.
It was first made by the Aztecs, and its name comes from the Nahuatl word āhuacamōlli, meaning "avocado sauce". It is traditionally made in a stone mortar called a molcajete.
Guacamole is served with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos and other dishes. In the United States, it is especially popular during the Super Bowl.
