About Pelmeni
Pelmeni are small Russian dumplings filled with minced meat, usually pork, beef or lamb, mixed with onions. The thin dough is folded into a round, ear-like shape.
They come from the Urals and Siberia, where they were made in large batches and frozen outdoors during the long winter. They were an ideal food for travelers.
Pelmeni are boiled and served with sour cream, butter or vinegar, or in a broth. They are one of the most common meals in Russia.
