About Cachapa
Cachapa is a sweet corn pancake from Venezuela, made from a batter of fresh ground corn kernels, a little sugar, salt and milk, cooked on a griddle until golden.
It is slightly thick, with a soft texture and a sweet corn flavor. It is folded in half around a filling of queso de mano, a soft, mild Venezuelan cheese, which melts inside.
Cachapas are sold at roadside stands across Venezuela and are often served with butter, ham or fried pork. They are a popular breakfast or lunch.
