Pla Rad Prik

Also known as Fried Fish with Chili Sauce
About Pla Rad Prik
Pla Rad Prik is a Thai dish of whole fried fish smothered in a sweet, sour and spicy chili sauce. "Pla" means fish, "rad" means poured over, and "prik" means chili.
A whole fish, often sea bass or tilapia, is scored and deep-fried until the skin is crisp and the flesh is tender. The sauce is made from chilies, garlic and shallots cooked with palm sugar, tamarind and fish sauce until it becomes thick and glossy.
The fish is topped with fried Thai basil leaves and served whole for sharing with jasmine rice. It is a popular dish in Thai seafood restaurants.
