About Manti
Manti are small Turkish dumplings filled with spiced ground lamb or beef and onion, boiled and served with garlic yogurt and melted butter with red pepper flakes.
Turkish manti, especially from Kayseri, are very small; it is said a good cook can fit 40 on a single spoon. They are topped with sumac and dried mint.
Manti came to Anatolia with Turkic and Mongol peoples from Central Asia. Versions are eaten across Central Asia, the Caucasus and Afghanistan, where they are usually larger and steamed.
